The DSi LL has the same specs of its predecessor, Nintendo DSi. Except, the DSi LL is larger than the DSi. The DSi LL’s screen measures 4.2 inches (much larger than 3.25 inches of DSi screen) – it is 93 percent wider than DSi’s. But still, their resolution remain the same, 256×196. The DSi LL come with two styluses, each has different size. Nintendo said the DSi LL is meant for people who wants to use it more for Internet and media playing than their games.

The DSi LL ship with three DSiWare titles pre-installed: two brain training games and DS Easy Dictionary. At launch time, DSi LL was released in dark brown, wine red, and natural white. The list price of the DSi LL is 20,000 yen (about $220). But,

Play with Nintendo DSi

Nintendo DSi WhiteWhat can you play with Nintendo DSi? With the Nintendo DSi you can PLAY GAMES, PLAY SOUND, PLAY PHOTOS, and PLAY the Nintendo DSi on the GO.

PLAY GAMES

The Nintendo DS Consoles family have been created to play games. There are hundreds of game titles already available. Not less than 853 games are now available. The number of the game titles will increase as game developers create new breed of games that make use of the Nintendo DSi features. There will be more games that use microphone, cameras, and other features of Nintendo DSi. The Nintendto DSi brings new experiences.

PLAY WITH SOUND

With Nintendo DSi, you don’t only play the games, but also play with sound. Even, the Nintendo DSi Sound application lets you do much more than playing songs. The application lets you record your sound, have fun with them, or play along with the music in new ways. (But sound and files from SD card that have been edited are not saved.)

Nintendo DSi plays songs in AAC file format only. But you can apply one of four different filters to the songs in your playlist. For example, with Intsrumental filter, you can strip out vocal on a song, or with other filter you can make your song sound like an 8-Bit Game.

You can also apply the filters on sound clips you have recorded. Even you can apply one of twelve fun filters. In this case you can save your altered creation as a new sound.

Interestingly, the pitch and speed of any sound – recorded sound or song – can be changed independently. Let say you are practicing to play a guitar, then you slow down a guitar solo so you can try and play along. Or you speedup a podcast to get the good part faster. What you have to do is dragging your stylus on the grid to change the pitch and speed of any sound.

Your songs in AAC file format saved on your SD Card (sold separately) can be loaded and played on your Nintendo DSi system. While playing the songs, you can add your own pre-recorded sounds on top to your favorite songs. Even you can play with speed and pitch control or add filters. It will add something extra to your songs. Add an extra kick to yours listening session by using the L and R Buttons to cycle through the fun sounds.

The Nintendo DSi will be your songs player anywhere. Insert a headphone and fold the Nintendo DSi system closed to listen to your favorite songs. Listen to your play list in order or shuffle it.

There are two kinds of local wireless game play: DS Download Play and Multi-Card Play. The DS Download Play requires that only one player has a copy of game. On the other hand, the Multi-Card Play requires that all players have their own copies of games on each Nintendo DS system. The Multi-Card Play usually give players more game options than on DS Download Play.

Nintendo DS Consoles also features Wi-Fi connection. (Wi-Fi is the standard wireless connection – also used in computers networking.) Players can go to an official Nintendo hotspot (a location with Wi-Fi connection) and immediately go online and start playing. You can also use Wi-Fi at your home, but you must configure your DS system to connect to your routers. What you have to do are entering the router’s network ID and optional security key.

The Strengths

In this Nintendo DSi Reviews you’ll find the great features of the Nintendo DS Consoles and also the comparison with its predecessors. Nintendo DSi is only 4 millimeters thinner than DS Lite and just 5 millimeters wider. Its sturdiness will take your attention if you see DSi for the first time and you are using DS Lite. Three LED lights on the left hinge replace the two LED lights found on the right hinge of the DS Lite. The LED lights are labeled with symbols for power, charging, and WiFi activity. DSi’s buttons are smoother, they require less of a pressing motion. The power button has been moved to the bottom left of the lower touch screen. Press the power buttons for a few seconds to turn the device on and off, while a short-press (when the DSi is on) will give you soft reset.

There are a few noticeable changes on the outside of the DSi. There is no more Game Boy Advance slot. This makes DSi slimmer than DS Lite. The slot has been replaced by SD card slot but located on the right edge. The SD card can be used for external storage of pictures, downloaded software and AAC audio. The headphone jack remains in the same location. The volume slider has been converted to push-button format on the left side.

Two Digital Cameras

Nintendo DSi features two 0.3 megapixel cameras. One camera is situated on the external body pointing away from the user (located on outside front cover), and the second one points at the user when the console is flipped open (located on the inner hinge). A pink LED light glows when the outer camera is active.

The truly interactive digital cameras make DSi become the first game console equipped with cameras. The DSi cameras feature 11 different interactive “lences” that can manipulate your photos. The photos then can be edited and shared with family and friends. Store your photos on the DSi’s internal 256MB of storage or onto an SD card (sold separately). The DSi also support SDHC cards, which are those that exceed 2GB of storage.

The cameras will present you with unprecedented ways to interact with your games. Game developer will make use the camera to create creative games that present you new experiences.

Download Games Directly from Internet

Game Boy Advance (GBA) card slot has been dropped from DSi, so it no longer supports GBA games. But you can download games and other content directly from Internet and saved them on the 256 MB onboard memory or an SD card.

The application allows users to play with their music while they listen to it.

Record your own sounds, then add a filters or increase and lower pitch and speed. The DSi Sound application also allows you to play your favorite music, and even distort it. You can only play AAC file format.

With PictoChat, you can create drawings and text messages with your stylus and send them to your friends’ DS or DSi via local wireless connection. Choose your pen, black or new rainbow color pen. A DSi sistem can still play with any version of the handheld.
