Nintendo DS Consoles Offer Great Experiences

Nintendo has been successfully creating portable gaming consoles. Nintendo DS Consoles have been played by millions people around the world. The Launching Time

Nintendo DS was launched in North America on November 21, 2004, in Japan on December 2. The price at the launch time was US$149.99 in the US and 15,000 yen in Japan. Later in 2005, retail price for the Nintendo DS was dropped to US$129.99.

It is interesting to note that over three million preorders were taken in North America and Japan. Preorders at online store were launched on November 3. In June 2005, according to Nintendo, a total of 6.65 million units had been sold worldwide.

Nintendo DS was successor of Game Boy console family. The last model of Game Boy console was Game Boy Advanced SP. Nintendo DS features a clamshell design, similar to the Game Boy Advance SP, with two LCD screens inside and the bottom one is touch screen.

Nintendo DS Lite
Nintendo released the Nintendo DS Lite on March 2, 2006, in Japan. Then it was released in Australia, North America, Europe, New Zealand, Singapore, and in other regions. According to Nintendo, as of June 30, 2009, shipments of the DS Lite have reached 82.26 million units worldwide.

At launch time of the Nintendo DS Lite in Japan, it was only available Crystal White; following the color, arrived on March 11, 2006, were Ice Blue and Enamel Navy. Then Nintendo released the other colors in Japan: Noble Pink on July 20, 2006; Jet Black on September 2, 2006; Metallic Rose and Gloss Silver on May 30, 2007.

At launch time in North America, the Nintendo DS Lite was only available in Polar White. Then on September 12, 2006, was released two model colors: Onyx (Jet) Black and Coral Pink; on August 21, 2007, was released Crimson Black in a bundle with Brain Age 2 game. On October 2, 2007, the Crimson/Black was available for purchase individually. On February 2, 2008, Nintendo of America announced Cobalt Black would be released on February 10, 2008. In June 2008, Metallic Rose model color was released, and on September 7, 2008, Mettalic Silver model was released.

Nintendo DSi
The third generation of Nintendo DS Consoles was first released in Japan on November 1, 2008. Nintendo has shipped 200,000 units of the Nintendo DSi on the launch, and the colors were Matte Black and Matte White. The first month after its released, the DSi sold 550,000 units and after two months sold 1,280,000 units in Japan. The price of the DSi was 18,000 yen.

On April 2, 2009, the DSi was released in Australia and New Zealand for AUD$299.95/NZD$375. On the following day, the DSi was released in Europe. Two days later, on April 5, 2009, the DSi was released in United States and Canada. The unit’s price was US$169.99 and CAD$199.95, and available in Matte Black and Matte Blue.
